The company was founded by Dr. J.W. Wigelsworth, who arrived at the concept of nutritional supplementation when a close friend and patient refused to eat the food that would provide him with nutrients to help him get well. The doctor dehydrated a vegetable, reduced it to powder and put it into capsules. His patient’s improvement was so dramatic that the doctor began combining vegetables for other patients. Word spread rapidly about his miraculous results.
